CAAP (CHALLENGE: Adventure and Academic Program)
The popular and long-running CHALLENGE: Adventure and Academic Program (CAAP) will challenge middle-school learners to explore, solve problems, develop critical thinking skills, and have FUN. Participants embark on a variety of (occasionally ridiculous) investigations, activities, tasks, and stunts that require them to collaborate, set goals, and get creative, then connect what they’re learning to their homes, schools, and communities. Participants in CAAP also work directly with mentors to explore justice-based leadership topics and build foundational literacy and discussion-based skills.
Program dates: Saturdays, Oct. 1 – Dec. 10 (*NO program on Nov. 26)
Program times: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Program location: Roger Williams Middle School, 278 Thurbers Ave., Providence
Grades: 6, 7, and 8
Notes: Morning snack, lunch, and transportation will be provided.
Middle School Math Academy
The Math Academy provides support for students who feel less confident in their math coursework. Our goal is to ensure that each student has a chance to practice key foundational skills to become more successful math students, problem-solvers, and critical thinkers. The instructors will not only provide individualized learning opportunities but will engage the students in teamwork and hands-on math games and activities!

The Writing Academy is designed to help build your foundational skills of grammar, sentence structure, and organizing your thoughts. You will not only work on how to make sure you are answering a prompt correctly, but also on how to put your thoughts on paper, edit your own writing, and engage your readers more effectively.
